Hero of mathematics is zero
Yes...zero is the hero of mathematics.
Let's start in a funny style.
He works in countless movies with many directors like Mr.addition(+), Mrs.Subtraction(-), Mr./Mrs. multiplication (×). But He perform in the movies of Mr./Mrs. Division (÷) with a deal that , he will act opposite any heroines of the real world (R) but if the director (÷) choose a heroine of his/ her own choice , he may/may not work(results are unknown); he also will not work with him/her in a movie with dual character,i.e. his opposite actor/villan will not be he himself.
What?
Are not understanding what I wants to say???
Ok! Let's explain the story of zero in mathematical words...
Actually 'zero' means nothing (empty/void). It's just a symbol.More preciously zero(0) is a place- holder.
In number system zero divides the real line into two halves.Zero is the separating wall between the positive and negative integers.
The invention of Zero has many theories. I want to highlight one of them; which deals that, around 628 AD , a great Indian mathematician Brahmagupta explained/described the uses of zero. According to history , around 300 B.C. babylonians and around 350 A.D. Mayans independently invented zero.
The invention of zero was like a gift for mathematics. The importance of zero in mathematics is known to all.
Some important and interesting facts about zero are:
0/n=0, for all n(not equals to 0).But n/0 is undefined. The form 0/0 is called indeterminate form.
n to the power 0 =1. But 0 to the power 0 is undefined. 0 to the power n =0 , for all n>0.
e to the power 0 = 1.
log(0) is undefined.
0!=1.
In set theory, 0 is the cardinality of a null set.
In propositional logic, 0 is used to denote the truth value of a proposition as false.
In lattice theory 0 denotes the least element of a bounded lattice.
In abstract algebra 0 is used to denote zero element.
There are such many uses of zero in mathematics.
So, zero is not only hero; a mysterious hero of mathematics.
